The incredible students from King's College took on an unforgettable challenge during their May voyage, stepping up to lead the sail to Great Barrier Island. From passage planning and navigation to sail handling and decision-making, the students embraced every opportunity to take ownership of the journey and work together as a crew. With plenty of time on the water, they continued to build their sailing skills through hands-on learning, developing confidence in tacking, trimming sails, helming, navigation, and teamwork in a variety of conditions. Watching their confidence grow as they led the voyage was an incredible achievement. Life ashore was just as memorable, with beach games, exploring Great Barrier Island, shared meals, and plenty of laughs, creating friendships and memories that will last well beyond the voyage. A huge thank you to the students and staff for their enthusiasm, leadership, and willingness to challenge themselves throughout the adventure.
