The logistics of clearing out of Richards Bay to sail to Durban has challenges almost as challenging as sailing this section of the Indian ocean. Using the mighty Agulhas current and surfing along a short choppy North Easter sea was “sporty”!

Most sailing channels start when someone's already out there. This one starts before that. I'm 18. I don't have a boat yet. I don't have the money for one yet. But I have a plan, a deadline, and a channel I'm building from the ground up so that when I do get out there, you've been with me from day one. This video is about the part nobody talks about — the uncomfortable middle ground between wanting the life and actually living it. The part where nothing looks like it's working. The part where most people quietly give up. I'm not quitting. And if you're in your own version of the middle right now, this one's for you. 🗓️ The goal: Buy a boat by summer 2026. Depart for the Bahamas by late November. 📍 Current status: Planning, saving, building. If you're new here, welcome. This is Captain SeaBound — documenting the whole journey, from zero to offshore, no shortcuts. 👇 Subscribe if you want to follow along from the beginning. This is the beginning.

Go behind the scenes of yacht maintenance and discover what it takes to keep a charter vessel running safely and efficiently throughout the season. In this video, we focus on the essential inspections and technical checks carried out on board, ensuring every system is performing as it should. From engine monitoring to routine servicing, these processes are key to maintaining reliability across a busy charter schedule. You’ll see why the engine is considered one of the most important safety components, and how it is carefully checked before and after each charter. Alongside this, our teams follow structured maintenance routines and detailed checklists to make sure nothing is overlooked. While underwater work plays a role, this video highlights the broader picture — the ongoing care, coordination, and technical expertise required to keep a yacht fully operational and ready for every new departure. Whether you’re a yacht owner or interested in charter operations, this offers a practical insight into the standards behind professional yacht maintenance. #YachtManagement #BoatMaintenance #YachtOwnership #Sailing #CatamaranLife

Step inside the engine room and discover the essential checks required to keep a marine engine running safely and reliably. In this video, we focus on the key elements of engine maintenance, highlighting the critical areas that technicians monitor to prevent issues and ensure smooth operation. From overall condition checks to detailed inspections of piping, electrical systems, and fluid levels, every step plays a role in keeping the vessel operational. You’ll see how corrosion is assessed across equipment, why properly secured hoses and clamps are essential, and how simple checks can prevent long-term damage. We also cover the importance of bilge pump condition, electrical connections, and monitoring engine and gearbox oil to detect potential problems early — including signs of seawater contamination. Whether you’re a yacht owner or interested in yacht maintenance, this video offers a clear, practical look at what it takes to maintain engine reliability at sea. #YachtManagement #BoatMaintenance #MarineEngine #YachtOwnership #Sailing

Take a closer look at the safety equipment checks that ensure every yacht is fully compliant and ready for the sea. In this video, we focus on the inspection and maintenance of all onboard safety gear — a critical step in preparing a vessel for both charter operations and handover. Every winter, our teams carefully review inspection timelines and verify that all equipment meets regulatory requirements. From life jackets and life rafts to flares and signalling devices, each item is checked for condition, functionality, and expiry dates. Alongside this, we ensure that essential onboard inventory — including toolboxes, fog horns, and mast chairs — is complete and ready for use. Before any yacht is delivered at the end of its phase-out process, all safety equipment must be fully operational, compliant, and ready for immediate use at sea. This is how we ensure every vessel meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. #YachtManagement #BoatSafety #YachtOwnership #BoatMaintenance #Sailing

Take a closer look at the systems that control anchoring and sailing performance — from the windlass to the sails. In this video, we focus on the inspection and maintenance of key deck equipment that plays a vital role in both safety and handling. The windlass, used for anchoring operations, is carefully tested to ensure smooth operation, proper load handling, and reliability when it matters most. At the same time, our teams inspect the sails to assess their condition after a full charter season. This includes checking for wear, damage, and overall performance to determine whether maintenance or replacement is required. Together, these systems are essential for safe manoeuvring, efficient sailing, and overall ease of use on board. As part of the phase-out process, all checks are carried out to ensure the yacht is fully operational and ready for its next journey — whether continuing in charter or transitioning to private use. #YachtManagement #BoatMaintenance #YachtOwnership #Sailing #CatamaranLife

Not everything on a yacht is replaced — so what is considered normal wear and tear? In this video, we take a closer look at how wear and tear is assessed throughout a yacht’s charter life, and what owners can expect at the end of the phase-out process. After multiple seasons and frequent charters, certain signs of use are natural. Our teams carefully evaluate the condition of each vessel, distinguishing between cosmetic aging and elements that require repair or replacement to maintain safety and performance. From interior finishes to exterior surfaces and equipment, this process ensures a fair and transparent approach when preparing the yacht for handover or its next stage. Understanding wear and tear is an important part of yacht ownership, helping set realistic expectations while ensuring the vessel remains reliable, well-maintained, and ready for continued use. #YachtManagement #YachtOwnership #BoatMaintenance #Sailing #CatamaranLife

Day 15 of the 75 Hard Challenge and today felt like a real turning point 💪 After dealing with a recent knee issue, I made the decision to take a smarter approach to running — starting back with a Couch to 10K session to rebuild strength properly rather than going all-out too soon. What started as a steady 30-minute session quickly turned into something more… I kept going. Ran back to the marina… added a few extra laps… and ended up hitting 9KM! From injury… to progress. This is what 75 Hard is all about — adapting, staying disciplined, and showing up no matter what. ✅ 2 Workouts Completed ✅ Clean Eating ✅ Water Intake Done ✅ Progress Photo Taken 📖 Just reading left to finish the day If you're on your own journey — fitness, mindset, or life in general — stick with it. This is a really cool sport boat! The Seadoo Wake 210 is a 21’ bowrider with many cool features and a surprisingly good build quality. There are 197 hours on the twin rotax engines with 215hp each (430 total hp) that put the power out through twin jet pumps, making this boat safe for surfing or any on the water activity, and also a good choice for shallow water areas. There’s a wakeboard tower with bimini top and wake board racks. There’s a cockpit table that can be mounted in 3 different places: bow, cockpit, or transom. There’s a Bluetooth stereo with 4 cockpit speakers and 2 tower speakers. The snap out carpets are in great shape and the gelcoat underneath them is also very clean. There is a bus heater system with 2 outlets, plus a ballast bag in the center to add to your wake. Tonnes of storage through out the boat and it is overall very clean in and out. Comes on the galvanized tandem axle trailer with brakes and swing tongue which was replaced new in 2023. Summerized and ready to go! Drop by @shuswapmarina today to check it out! #boatfoolssailing #pocketcruiser #Budgetboat #sailboat #trailerablesailboat #boattour 26 Feet, 2 Cabins & Only $5,400?! | 1977 Parker Dawson 26 Pocket Cruiser | Full Tour ***Quick note: technically this boat has a swing keel, which is 1,100 lbs, and locks in the down position for offshore. Unlike a centerboard, which is more for lateral resistance, this swing keel, when down, adds significant stability. Canadian Ken and I were absolutely smitten by the charm, cleanliness, and quality of this beautifully kept 1977 Parker Dawson 26 — a rare and clever American-made trailerable pocket cruiser that offers far more space and versatility than you’d ever expect from a 26-foot sailboat. Designed by Robert Finch (who also co-designed the hugely successful Catalina 27), the Parker Dawson 26 first appeared in the early 1970s and quickly stood out for its center-cockpit, double-cabin layout — an incredibly unusual feature in a boat this size. This smart design creates two separate living spaces, including a dedicated aft cabin with twin bunks and sink, plus a forward cabin with galley, dinette, v-berth, and quarter berth. It’s the kind of compact cruising sailboat that makes you wonder why more builders didn’t follow this formula. CHAPTERS: 00:00 Intro - Which Cabin is Better? 00:58 What is a Parker Dawson 26? 03:38 Centerboard, Rudder & Topsides 08:18 The Cockpit, Helm & Engine 11:59 The Aft Cabin 15:42 The Main Cabin, Galley, Centerboard Controls 21:22 Our Final Thoughts! With a beam of 8 feet, the Parker Dawson 26 is legally trailerable in many areas, and thanks to its shoal draft centerboard keel, she draws just 1'8" board up and 5'4" board down. That means easy launching, shallow-water exploring, protected coves, coastal gunkholing, and weekend adventures where deeper boats can’t go. Parker Dawson 26 Key Specs: Length Overall (LOA): 25'7" Beam: 8'0" Draft: 1'8" board up / 5'4" board down Displacement: Approx. 4,000 lbs Fiberglass construction Commonly powered by small Yanmar diesel or outboard Center cockpit sailboat Double cabin layout Trailerable cruiser design This one especially impressed us for how clean, honest, and well cared for it appears. For anyone dreaming of affordable sailing, a compact cruiser, a trailerable sailboat, or a charming weekender with real accommodations, this Parker Dawson 26 deserves a serious look. Day 28 is done! Today was a quick update because we’ve got friends visiting and we’re heading out on a speedboat around the island — mainly because there’s absolutely no wind for sailing today! 🌊☀️ Last night we went out dancing, but instead of drinking alcohol I stuck with sparkling water, lime and ice. It just proves you can still socialise, have fun and enjoy yourself without drinking. This morning’s workout was intense… I finally introduced my new ropeless battle ropes into the routine and WOW… my muscles were shaking afterwards! 🏋️ Today’s workout included: 5 minute stretching session 15 minutes of battle rope circuits Resistance bands Iso-bow training Wing Chun ring exercises 💧 3 litres of water down before 11am 🥣 Diet completed 📸 Progress pics done 📖 Reading done Another productive day completed on the 75 Hard challenge! If you’re doing 75 Hard too, keep going — discipline beats motivation every time. 👇 Let me know in the comments: Could you go on a night out and not drink alcohol? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you found it informative or entertaining please give it a thumbs as it helps get YouTube to promote it outside of the existing subscribers.
