Day 28 is done! Today was a quick update because we’ve got friends visiting and we’re heading out on a speedboat around the island — mainly because there’s absolutely no wind for sailing today! 🌊☀️ Last night we went out dancing, but instead of drinking alcohol I stuck with sparkling water, lime and ice. It just proves you can still socialise, have fun and enjoy yourself without drinking. This morning’s workout was intense… I finally introduced my new ropeless battle ropes into the routine and WOW… my muscles were shaking afterwards! 🏋️ Today’s workout included: 5 minute stretching session 15 minutes of battle rope circuits Resistance bands Iso-bow training Wing Chun ring exercises 💧 3 litres of water down before 11am 🥣 Diet completed 📸 Progress pics done 📖 Reading done Another productive day completed on the 75 Hard challenge! Our Hawaii cruise started with two days on Oʻahu — and it set the tone for the whole trip. Day one was the travel day, followed by an afternoon at Waikiki Beach and a visit to Pearl Harbor. If you haven't been to the memorial before, it's worth giving yourself more time than you think you'll need — it stays with you. Day two took us to Kualoa Ranch on the windward coast. It's a working cattle ranch that also happens to be one of the most recognisable film locations in the world — Jurassic Park fans will know exactly why. We'd heard good things and it didn't disappoint. This is part one of our full Hawaii cruise series aboard Pride of America. ► Wednesday, May 6th, 12:34 p.m., heading for Martinique ► When you dream of an Atlantic crossing, you mostly picture the night watches, dolphins bow-riding the keel, and sunsets out in the middle of the Atlantic. Much less the days spent provisioning the boat. Yet even before setting sail, it’s almost an expedition in its own right. In Portugal, we started by loading everything that needed to last: canned goods, pasta, rice, dry provisions, snacks, and above all, liters and liters of fresh water. 240 liters, to be exact. Day after day, the boat filled up with bags, crates, and carefully arranged supplies stored between the compartments and the galley on board. Perishables, on the other hand, were loaded at the last moment before departure: fruit, vegetables, and a few delicious dishes prepared by the French restaurant La Villa - meant to keep us going during the first days at sea until Las Palmas. My father had prepared a long, two-page provisioning list. And yet, that didn’t stop us from forgetting… a grater and a “rasp” (fine grater). On the other hand, there was no missing bread. One of the crew members seems to consider it absolutely essential to the success of the crossing, so that by the time we were in Las Palmas, a large part of the restocking had turned into a stockpile of bread in all its forms. As for me, I also thought it essential to bring a few hydrating face masks. Low energy, sore shoulders, tired arms… but the important thing is showing up anyway. Another HIIT session completed this morning and honestly… I started this workout feeling tired and sluggish. But once that second circuit kicked in, everything started coming together again. Today’s session included: 💥 Battle ropes warm-up 💪 Resistance band training 🔥 Core exercises 🚶‍♂️ Recovery-focused movement for the knee I had planned a bike workout this morning, but my knee had other ideas. Looks like running and biking may need another week off while I let it recover properly. It’s frustrating, but learning when to adapt instead of quit is all part of the challenge. We also nearly had a 75 Hard disaster last night… 😅 At 10:30 PM Jen suddenly realised she hadn’t taken her progress photos! Safe to say the camera came out VERY quickly and disaster was avoided.
