Led by Skipper Nic and crew, our guests did it all! A spot of target shooting with our target "Lee the duck" getting off lightly with zero hits. Sunset fishing was glorious, and super fresh sashimi made and served. Everyone woke up to a stunning morning and the sun beaming on The Rock. The Penguin Dance loosened the limbs before our guests took the plunge and went for a snorkel. Kina (sea urchin) were collected, a sting ray was also spotted cruising around. Back on board and changed the group then headed to visit Waewaetorea Island. You cannot fault the stunning views of the Bay from the top! O nome "Itajaí-Açu" é de origem tupi e foi adotado pelos índios que ocuparam a Praia de Cabeçudas, no município de Itajaí, estando ligado à formação de pedra conhecida atualmente como Bico do Papagaio. Na sua forma original, esta formação assemelhava-se à cabeça de uma ave, o jaó. Por este motivo, a palavra Itajaí-Açú significa: ita = pedra; jaí = o pássaro, a ave; açu = grande . Ou seja: rio grande do jaó de pedra.[carece de fontes] Alternativamente, o nome "Itajaí-açu" pode significar "grande rio repleto de pedras", através da junção dos termos tupis itá ("pedra"), îá ("repleção"), 'y ("rio") e gûasu (" grande").[1]

This week some of the Wings crew did a clean up of one of the tiny beaches here in the Whitsundays. All together they collected over 3 large garbage bags of rubbish, most of which was plastic. This goes to show that plastic pollution is a problem everywhere even in our beautiful little slice of paradise, it’s up to all of us to do something about it.
