Swedish yacht design maestro Tore Holm was at peak career when he designed, and his family's boatyard built, this beautiful, striking, seaworthy and sea kindly, fast classic yacht. Holm's mind was very much on American rules at this time. The 'Bermuda' or CCA Rule was then in force for Scandinavian offshore races, and HAVSÖRNEN ('Sea Eagle') was conceived to win the first Round Gotland Race; which she did. https://www.sandemanyachtcompany.co.uk/yacht/783/HAVS%C3%96RNEN Meanwhile, Holm was also working on the design of a future Swedish J-Class America's Cup challenger that would eventually not be built until 2017 - as SVEA. Her seaworthy hull provides good headroom below, and the interior finish is a delight.

This theme was written with a scene in mind where war was ruining the lives of some of the tribes near the Sahara but at the end of it all the locals came together in force and won back their villages and even though they lost friends and family, they have gained a better future for the next generation.

I was going to film the whole process of priming the boat but my camera died so here is my video showing what I did.

Once again it demonstrated the wonderful sport of sailing with land yachting is for all regardless of their physical condition, age or gender. Thanks for your visit and congratulations on the skill to navigate with as little wind, few people get to that.
