Realistically, it's very, very hard to improve the new Amel 50 :) She's all set up and ideal for sailing couples, but, what if you are frequently sailing solo? Sometime when going to shore and needing to pull the tender up a boat ramp, its an awkward carry alone. Usually there is a friendly fisherman offering help, but if alone, this little trick makes it easier. How to get a dinghy up a beach alone? might work, let me know if it does. We don't have boat wheels but this gets me out of a bind occasionally. Other times we anchor it on the beach, carry the dinghy up the beach, or tie to a dock when available. We departed on an overnight passage south from Mazatlán to the spectacular Isla Isabel, arriving just in time for the swell to start rolling in to the questionable anchorage! It took many, many dives to free the chain from boulders, and a near miss with the stern anchor chafing on rocks. We finally got comfortable and are treated to one of the most vibrant sunsets ever, which more than made up for all of the troubles!
