Full test in Multihulls World #182: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/c-cat-48-a-sporty-but-very-habitable-catamaran Of course we know about the C-Cat 37, and now the 62 in the planning stage... but C-Catamarans are working on offering other models, such as the 56, whose molds are currently in production - we'll be talking about that very soon - and especially the 48, whose production has just started. This offshore catamaran is as comfortable as it is fast and fun to sail. The announced light displacement, just under 10 tons, promises some beautiful sailing indeed! The design of the coachroof is as simple as it is successful - it integrates a forward hatch just behind the mast. The hulls are narrow, with straight bows, and the boat is equipped with daggerboards. Marine electrical systems Part 1 explains shore power and how an isolation transformer protects your boat galvanic corrosion and protects you from electric shock drowning risk. Pierre explains the way power is brought to the boat on BioTrek: the lithium batteries store the power so that we do not need to rely on variable power and variable quality of cabling on the dock. He explains electrical drift along the dock and why a galvanic insulator is not the solution to protect you and your boat. This video created while under quarantine in Canada and some view of the Otonabee river which is part of the Trent-Severn waterway system that connects Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay. Someone is trying to steal our videos. Unfortunately, it's true, someone is trying to steal our Youtube videos! We think it's important to share this with you and Fred explains what's going on so watch this episode to understand the drama. But as we are very resilient even with this news that devastated us, we continue to edit EP8 and we will show you the entire process of removing, cleaning, and installing the hatches and the special technique that Fred used to prevent the fixing points of screws on the deck over time, they show infiltration causing the biggest nightmare of all wooden boat owners: rotten wood on the deck. Yes, it can be avoided and Fred will show you. Another subject that always creates doubts is the valves and registers, which type to use. Fred after a lot of research discovered some interesting material but of course, he couldn't avoid becoming a real MythBuster and doing stress tests in the most absurd ways. We are Fred and Juh. This week has been a bit hectic. We are moving into the shed, where we tackle several projects at once. We mainly want to focus on prepping her for painting the hull and the cockpit area. Teak deck and rudder repair is first on the list as both will prove to be lengthy projects. Yes, we are trying to salvage the original teak. There are so many jobs a so little time. We are not sure we will make it in time before winter. Painting during the winter is not ideal.. fingers crossed then. We gotta hurry!

Turns out, the entire coast of Portugal is a trap! :) Every time there is a Westerly winds 15-20kns or more (pretty much always after September), the waves are huge and most of the ports alone the coast are closed. And they can be closed for days and days! I've spend one week in Porto, Portugal waiting for the weather window. There were constant rain, wind and waves, but it was a pleasant experience nevertheless. I'll miss Porto!
