#blauwassersegeln #sailingcelina #sailingaroundtheworld #sailingadventures #sailing #segeln

In this episode we get to explore more of the Sea of Cortez. We are blown away by the beauty of the mountain ranges and the clarity of the water. It is a truly stunning place and unlike anywhere we've visited before. We discover an amazing natural harbour and hurricane hole with a world class marina tucked in there. A couple of lovely guys from La Paz drive up to measure our rigging. Then come and join us as we get to take our first kite surf session from Happy Days and stick our heads underwater to check out the sea-life too. Thanks for watching! In this episode we complete a fairly intense check in with Montenegro's Yacht assist and then cruise the coast from the Bay of Kotor to Svedi Stefan. The check in process began at the customs dock. It was simple enough to get passports stamped but there's much more. You need to also check in at the Tourist desk and pay for your time in the country. In our case it was 80E for the boat and us together. Not bad. Next came Yacht Assist. A must do. I thought the name implied some assistance but it does not. They will examine every bit of your documentation prior to giving you a Vignetta(cruising permit). This must be done prior to harbor master approval. Once complete, you are good to go for as long as you vignette is allowed. If you check out and check back in, you will need to repeat the process. Overall, we love Montenegro. We fell in love with Porto Montenegro and Lustica bay. Both were developed by the same company.

7 days with no land in sight. An 850-mile offshore sailing passage across the Atlantic from Gran Canaria to Cape Verde. We set sail from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, to Mindelo, Cape Verde, with two additional crew members on board. For seven days there is no land in sight - just the open Atlantic Ocean, night watches, sailing and the rhythm of life aboard Zoé during a bluewater passage. This route from the Canary Islands to Cape Verde is a classic Atlantic offshore leg, yet it still brings uncertainty. Near the coast of Mauritania, an unidentified vessel followed us for hours, raising concerns about potential piracy at sea. Along the way, dolphins escort the boat multiple times, we catch a dorado, and after a full week of long-distance sailing, we finally sail into Mindelo at sunset in strong winds. 🌊 If you enjoy our videos and would like to support us, please consider joining our Patreon crew for real-time updates and exclusive contents, or support us on Ko-fi with a one-time donation. This video focuses of the fauna that we saw and visited in the Southern Ocean, mainly in the Falkland Islands and also in Antarctica. Although a good part of the Antarctica fauna is described and shown in a previous video and we don't repeat here. The video describes the key aspects of the behavioral patterns of 10 different species: 5 species of penguins, brown browed albatrosses, emperor or king shags (cormorants), Peales and Commerson dolphins, Leopard Seals, Weddell Seals and Southern Elephant seals.

There is something seriously wrong with the weather. We just had a 3 day holiday weekend - yet it was hot, a light breeze blowing and not a cloud in the sky! So Jetti and I decided to take a gentle cruise in our 30ft Sagitta catamaran to Hope Cove, about 15 miles east of or mooring in Plymouth. We just drifted along, together with a whole variety of different boats. No drama or excitement, so this video just shows the deck layout and some of the interior of our boat. Hope Cove was crowded when we got there so, unusually, we had to anchor in 30ft of water - normally we try for under 10 ft. And very glad we were not on a monohull, they were all rolling rhythmically in the SW swell. Next day we sailed back to Plymouth, a bit more wind so touched 6+ knots at times. Apart from the lack of roll, the other big advantage of a multihull is that we have all round vision when sitting inside (we go "inside" not "down below" on catamarans) Sunday night was spent at one of our favourite anchorages, up the Lynher river, with obligatory BBQ. Then home again on Monday. If only all sailing was like that! As always, no audio on this short video. This week Katy and I travel down the Chesapeake Bay from Solomons Island, MD to Deltaville, VA. It is the second leg of our journey towards Norfolk, VA. We sail downwind and against current... our first experience sailing with steep waves. Wow, the Chesapeake really delivered! We get scared of the wave height that builds as the tides shift, but manage to laugh our way through.
