This massive 50ft whale tossed this small boat around like it was nothing. This was an incredible experience. This whale was bumping our dinghy for 20 minutes... we think she was scratching her nose using our boat. It was so much fun. RSHYR 2025 | Min River wins IRC Overall - After little more than 10 years of sailing - which remarkably, has included five Sydney Hobarts and a Fastnet Race – Jiang Lin, with renowned French co-skipper Alexis Loison has won the Tattersall Cup for IRC Overall in the 80th edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. Jiang becomes not only the first Double Handed owner/skipper to win the Tattersall Cup, but she will be the first woman to have her name engraved on that famous trophy.

We have been working on replacing our fixed 3-blade propellers with new Gori folding props, and while we were doing that job we decided to upgrade our cutlass bearings as well. We found a company in Auckland, Henley's, who make polymer cutlass bearings and they gave us a great tip on how to install them...using liquid nitrogen! We have never seen this done before but it sounded way too much fun to ignore so we gave it a go and managed not to cause too much damage. Join us as we figure out how to install our new cutlass bearings and Gori propellers (and watch until the end to see what we did with all the leftover liquid nitrogen!)
