This 118' Broward Yacht, PG's JESTER, is one of the few modern 24' beam Raised Pilothouse Motoryachts, and she was built at the peak of Broward Marine's production. In addition to the obvious extra interior volume provided by the significant increase in beam, PG's JESTER features full walk-around decks, aft engine room, accommodations for eight guests in four staterooms plus crew quarters for five. The main deck is an open arrangement plan with a tremendous feeling of light and space with numerous oversized windows and atrium effect in the salon. She was built by Dickerson Boatbuilders in Maryland in 1974. Her hull is made from mahogany strip planks that are glued and nailed together. They are fastened to steam bent white oak frames with bronze fasteners. Southern Cross was used as the 'plug' to create a mold for producing fiberglass versions of the Dickerson 41.  We visited Don and D aboard Southern Cross in March of 2013 in Oriental, North Carolina.
