Melbourne ist die Hauptstadt des Bundesstaates Victoria in Australien. Sie ist mit etwa 5,2 Millionen Einwohnern nach Sydney knapp die zweitgrößte Stadt Australiens. Die Stadt liegt rund um die Mündung des Yarre-River. Das Wetter in Melbourne ist sehr wechselhaft und wird gerne mit „four seasons in a day“ – also - „Vier Jahreszeiten an einem Tag“ beschrieben. Starke Wetterschwankungen sind vor allem jetzt im Frühjahr bis zum Sommer zu beobachten. Sie äußern sich primär in Form von Stürmen, Regen und schnellen Temperaturstürzen. Hierfür ist der Temperaturunterschied zwischen dem kühlen Südpazifischen Ozean und dem erheblich wärmeren Inland Australiens verantwortlich. Brigitta war natürlich vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben passte als in meins. In den folgenden 6 Monaten hat Brigitta aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich über unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich.
