Originally built as a tug boat in 1964, VERVECE accomplished a two-year major refit in 2015 which was a complex and fascinating project, almost unique for this type of vessel. The idea was to build a ship capable of satisfying guests with the desire to experience yachting without limits, by preserving the original characteristics of a tug vessel. Navaldesign & Consulting developed 3D design drawings, Moroso Starita studio engineered hull structural drawings and produced stability calculation. Interior designers Ida Penta and Francesco Scardaccione were responsible for the interior layout optimization and interior design. The original engines were replaced by 2 new Cummins engines that guarantee maximum comfort for guests and the best optimisation of fuel consumption. The engine room in the aft was re-engineered and equipped with modern machinery and equipment. This allowed reducing the engine room’s length to the advantage of guest cabins space. lnsulation and soundproofing were the main requirements of the conversion. The exterior was equally a subject of substantial work. The main and upper decks were covered with good-quality teak. The air conditioning system was designed to work in extreme weather conditions, from 50°C to -45°C, allowing the custom choice of temperature and ventilation in each cabin. Air treatment ensures a very high level of comfort on board. There is accommodation for eight guests in four cabins, comprising a master suite with a queen-sized bed, a VIP cabin with a queen-sized bed, and two twin cabins. Large areas are dedicated to living spaces on the main deck, the galley and the master cabin are situated in the middle-fore part. Two guest cabins, a VIP cabin, the Captain's cabin and crew mess are located on the lower deck. Two crew cabins are situated in the aft part with access to the main deck. A saloon fitted with large teak table and chairs, with a corner for study is located on the upper deck. The wheelhouse is located on the upper deck and finished with white lacquered ash and teak with elements of black leather inserts, giving this space a more classic and traditional character. Captain and crew have the most advanced equipment at their disposal, and the vessel is able to navigate and be enjoyed all year round with possibility to get into any port in the Mediterranean and overseas. In Santa Marta leben ca. 500.000 Einwohner, in der Metropolregion 830.000 Menschen. Santa Marta liegt an der Karibikküste Kolumbiens, knapp 1.000 km von Bogotá entfernt. Südöstlich vom städtischen Teil hat die Gemeinde einen Anteil an der Sierra Nevada mit den höchsten Bergen Kolumbiens. Mit einer Höhe von jeweils 5775 Metern liegt auch aktuell auf ihren Gipfeln Schnee. In der Sierra Nevada auf dem Gemeindegebiet befindet sich die Ruinenstadt Ciudad Perdida von der in einem separaten Film berichtet wird. Im Osten der Gemeinde befindet sich der Nationalpark Tayrona den wir in diesem Film besuchen. Der Reiz der Landschaft liegt einerseits in der Karibik mit ihrem warmen Wasser und den Korallenriffen direkt am Strand und andererseits an den schneebedeckten Gipfeln der Sierra Nevada. Vor der Ankunft der Europäer war der südamerikanische Kontinent von einer Reihe von indigenen Gruppen bewohnt. Aufgrund einer Kombination aus tropischem Wetter, erheblichen Niederschlägen und der Zerstörung und Verfälschung vieler Aufzeichnungen durch spanische Konquistadoren ist unser Verständnis der Völker dieser Region begrenzt. Dafür haben wir uns einen Katamaran gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März 2021 von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind. Seit vielen Jahren war eine Weltumsegelung mein (Hannes) großer Traum, den ich berufsbedingt zum Renteneintrittsalter verwirklichen wollte. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr 2020 erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Plan International ist ein internationales Kinderhilfswerk.
