‘Disco Volante’ is a multi-award-winning Prestige 500 flybridge motor yacht. It is one of the most popular flagship motor yachts from Prestige for a good reason. What’s unique about ‘Disco Volante’ is, that aside from a couple of trips to the islands, this yacht has been fresh water kept her whole life. This well cared for yacht is ideal for entertaining with her large spaces on the flybridge, aft deck and opposing seating in the salon. Her solid hull design and ‘Class B’ offshore rating means she is a comfortable ride cruising up or down the Pacific Coast. With her 4-cabin layout and engine servicing all up to date this turn key motor yacht is a rare find in this size range. We look at a Jeanneau Sun Fizz liveaboard cruiser. This sailboat that is a bit closer to home and slightly larger with 3 cabins. Though I am not a big fan of the fin rudder we have to make sacrifices when boat shopping. This particular boat is set up to be powered at anchor. The family had it for 10 years 3 of which they cruised the Caribbean to Guatemala. This is a very thorough boat tour the ins and outs of this particular vessel. You can visibly see how excited we are to be taking this boat tour. I had been looking at this boat for months and even tried to see it in march while it still had snow on it. I had given up on this boat because the owner didn't seem motivated to sell and wanted to keep it another year. The boat is a really great bang for the buck especially because it would be imported and we would get a good exchange rate. However there is another SUN fizz on the market that has new rig and engine for less money BUT its a shole draft keel. Which is great in the Bahamas but not beating upwind doing the thorny path.

► Full test in Multihulls World 188. The Australian manufacturers have just moved into a new building and Roger Overell, director and founder of Lightwave, has completed the redesign of its flagship model, the Lightwave 45. While the specifications of the new 46 remain the same, the catamaran which has just been launched adopts inverted bows and a redesigned deckhouse with larger openings. The interior has also been to revised. The construction used – foam/glass/polyester sandwich with epoxy for the underwater hull – will guarantee excellent structural qualities. Customization is part of the yard’s philosophy. A forthcoming 52-footer is currently in the design stage. Our Australian correspondent Kevin Green was able to discover this novelty in Sydney – full test in a very forthcoming issue. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Lightwave Yachts Length: 45’11” (14 m) Beam: 23’11” (7.3 m) Draft (skegs): 4’ (1.2 m) Displacement: 16,535 lbs (7.5 t) Engines: 2 x 50 or 55 HP Fuel: 210 US gal (800 l) Water: 210 US gal (800 l) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Listing Specifications & Price: We are proud to present BLUE STAR, that is not only the finest Little Harbor 53, but also one of the stars in the movie 'Failure to Launch', starring Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker. Designed by Ted Hood and built in the Lien Hwa shipyard in Taiwan, the Little Harbor line of sailing yachts was built for comfortable offshore sailing with top quality construction and pedigree. The cockpit is designed for single-handed sailing, with all controls easily reached from the helm. Inside, the generous beam and hull design lead to an interior that feels like a much larger yacht, providing exceptional living and storage space. Ideal for shallow waters, she features a deep, efficient centerboard that increases draft to 11'-4" when lowered. Built in 1988 and commissioned in 1989 BLUE STAR has only had two owners, the first for 15 years and the current owners for the past 17. Her second owner has kept her maintained by the same boat yard, the same engineer, and the same varnish / cosmetics expertise. She's never been chartered, and is kept in her own private slip in Oxford, MD on the Chesapeake Bay when in season. BLUE STAR has cruised the US East Coast and the Caribbean, and when not cruising south she has been kept protected by her full canvas winter cover. Below decks BLUE STAR's layout is especially focused on safety and offshore blue water sailing. All berths are equipped with lee cloths, the salon is designed to take full advantage of space, with a large curved dinette table and all safety reaches never out of arms distance. The aft owner's cabin has two oversized sea berths that each approach the size of a double bed with extra length. BLUE STAR sleeps six in three private staterooms, each with private head and shower. Starting forward there is a large storage area/bosun's locker with workbench and deck access. Aft of the forepeak are two identical guest staterooms, each with over/under berths and separate heads, including showers. Each cabin has a full cedar-lined hanging locker, several drawers, large lockers, opening ports, opening hatches and fans over each berth. Winter and summer custom fitted coverlets and sheets and monogrammed towels are available for each cabin. Two sets of fitted coverlets for each berth; one cream colored and the other a rich patterned winter coverlet, fitted sheets. monogrammed linens include towels, pillows, shams (with a monogram of Blue Star's design), napkins, glasses, stationery, and more. Paramount Pictures selected BLUE STAR to be featured as the sail boat in 'Bristol' condition for its movie, 'Failure to Launch' starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey. This selection was made after the Governor's office for Tourism referred their call to several boat yards and much competition from visited yachts resulted in BLUE STAR's selection. This selection speaks to the pristine condition of the yacht. BLUE STAR's role resulted in signed logs by Sarah and Matthew; one extra, transparent Bimini; and one set of new 'blue' cockpit cushions (desire of the Director, but in the end BLUE STAR's white cushions were chosen). Here's a look round my Norfolk Gypsy, a 20' gunter-rigged sailing boat. (In the video I say "gaff-rigged", but actually it's a gunter rig). She's a shoal-draft boat (0.5m draft with centreboard up) - so able to explore shallow rivers and creeks, but also substantial enough for passages along the coast. I run through all the main elements on deck, in the cockpit and in the cabin.

This is the first in our series of boat tours of the best cruising boats at Annapolis 2022. Perhaps the most impressive boat at Annapolis was the Passport 615, it got a lot of attention but we managed to get on board and have a good look around. The 615 might be a little large (and expensive!) for your average cruising couple however so we wanted to show a perhaps more attainable version of the Passport and luckily for us our patrons Jeff and Amanda had their (new to them) Passport 456 moored just around the corner so we went for a visit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on Instagram #svfairisle -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE DO SUBSCRIBE - IT COSTS YOU NOTHING AND HELPS US OUT WITH THE YOU TUBE ALGORITHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rather see our videos without ads?... ► Full test in Multihulls World 188: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/cheetah-adventure-720-a-utility-vessel-for-leisure-boating Cheetah is well known in the UK: the brand has produced nearly 400 motor catamarans over the past 30 years. Designed from the start to take on the rollers of the exposed beaches on the Isle of Wight, the first model initiated a complete range of powercats perfectly adapted to the demanding constraints of various services – firefighters, response operations, diving etc. The Adventure model, developed from the proven hull of the 720, features a bulwark opening to starboard, which provides a 10 by 12½-foot (3 x 3.8 m) deck when at anchor. A metal frame, not unlike a roof-rack you might find on a 4x4 that also goes on adventures, can be fitted to carry equipment (bikes, paddleboards, etc). ► Full test in Multihulls World 187: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/dazcat-1295-two-hulls-no-compromises Darren Newton, the designer-builder of the Dazcat range, likes to validate his work by racing his catamarans, even those (such as the 1295) that are oriented towards blue water cruising. Designed to sail far and long-term with a short-handed crew, the 12.95 is also often the fastest in a race, even on a technical course. Thank you very much, you guys are amazing supporting us with your likes and comments, we really feel that we have a new family out there. Much love Carla & Simon A little bit about us... We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. [SOLD] BALI 4.0 - 2017 Layout: 4 cabins In the Bali family, I ask for the little brother! With the 40 footer, the Bali range is now completely homogeneous. Like its bigger brothers the 4.3, 4.5 and 5.4, the Bali 4.0 offers an open space between the cockpit and the saloon. A retractable door on pneumatic struts makes it possible to switch from cozy mode (closed) to lounge mode (open on the mooring)… On the 4.0, we find the forward cockpit and the very pleasant bay windows which disappear completely to provide optimum ventilation. With more than 300 units built in the last 5 years, the second-hand market is now opening up for this bestseller. Contact us now to sell your catamaran or multihull !

► Full test in Multihulls World Special Issue Power 19: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/prestige-m48-a-long-awaited-powercat ► Motorboat manufacturer Prestige already has three monohull ranges, making them one of the undisputed world leaders in the sector, with over 4,000 examples produced over the past 30 years. The launch of the M48 is therefore a nice surprise for powercat fans! This new model inaugurates a complete new range which will soon represent 40% of the brand's turnover. The power catamaran that we discovered in Cannes features very clean lines and respects the brand’s design - it is still the Italian studio Garroni Design in charge. With a hull drawn by Philippe Briand and a drivetrain limited to twin 320 HP motors for a 20-ton laden displacement, there is a maximum boatspeed just shy of 20 knots. The living area includes a saloon, the galley and a helm station. The large forward cabin is a success. In the hulls, the cabins embedded deep between the central floor and the bottom of the nacelle are unprecedented on board powercats of this category. It remains to be tested in rough seas to note the behavior of the tunnel between the hulls, that has necessarily reduced bridgedeck clearance. The first tests are scheduled for late October in Spain, right after the Barcelona International Boat Show - but we were faster! ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Prestige Yachts Architect: Philippe Briand/Valentina Militerno De Romedis Design: Garroni Design Overall length: 48’6” (14.79 m) Hull length: 47’2” (14.37 m) Beam: 19’7” (5.98 m) Draft: 3’7” (1.08 m) Air draft: 15’9”/25’ (4.8/7.62 m) Light displacement: 38,540 lbs (17.48 t) Cruising speed: 9/18 knots Maximum speed: 19 knots Fuel: 317 US gal (1,200 l) Drivetrain: 2 x 320 HP CE category: B - 12 / C - 14 / D - 16 ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Well we’ve finally done the boat tour video people have been asking for. There’s so much to show on and in our 1982 Whitby 42 Ketch built in Ontario, Canada that we’ve split into two parts for you. In this second video we take you through full details of everything below deck including Karen’s very well equipped galley, Rob’s nav station come edit suite, the spacious engine room, some of the improvements in the cabins we’ve been making and much more. Jump on board and have a look. We have recently splashed out money on a new, far more powerful laptop to assist with video editing and, with the help of our fantastic Patreon & Ko-fi supporters, another radio mic to improve the audio. If you would like to support our video productions you can do it for less than price of a coffee per episode. ► Full test in Multihulls World 189 : https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/ck70-blue-water-cruising-a-la-carte ► In recent months, Squalt Marine International has promised the public a 64, then a 67... but it was finally an imposing 70-footer that was moored right in front of our booth at the Cannes Yachting Festival - so we couldn't miss it! Claude Kermoal is well known in the boating world – in both the leisure and the service sectors. The builder, now based in Bizerte in Tunisia, has managed to present a catamaran perfectly suited to long distance sailing in extreme latitudes thanks to its robust aluminum construction. You could easily envisage living on board such a craft or even using it as a base for a scientific expedition. Contrary to many preconceived ideas, aluminum gives a guarantee of excellent weight estimates in these large sizes: at 38 tons on the scales for 69 feet (21 m) of hull, it is almost identical to the characteristics of the Alegria 67, for example. Inside, there’s a very careful standard of finish, and it features plentiful equipment that includes all conceivable options. The construction material obviously allows the catamaran to be customized to a great extent. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Squalt Marine International Design: Claude Kermoal Material: 5083 H 111 aluminum Hull length: 69’3” (21.1 m) Beam: 33’10” (10.32 m) Draft: 4’11” (1.5 m) Mast length: 85’4” (26 m) Displacement: 83,800 lbs (38 t) Mainsail: 1,290 sq ft (120 m²) Genoa: 1,400 sq ft (130 m²) Engines: 2 x 140 HP Fuel: 2 x 845 US gal (2 x 3,200 l) Water: 2 x 475 US gal (2 x 1,800 l) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Full test in Multihulls World Powercat Special Edition 19: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/garnet-300-ht-fly-optimized-for-fishing Garnet Offshore is a young Brazilian brand - its boats are produced near Rio de Janeiro. There are currently two powercats in the range, the 270 and the 300. There’s no denying that the latter, with 20 rod holders and rod supports (at 20 feet/6 m long and telescopic) is designed above all for big game fishing. In fact, with chines protecting the hulls, it behaves very well in rough seas. With twin 225 hp outboards, the Garnet can reach 40 knots without question. The Fly version provides a lookout - and a second helm station. A panoramic view is guaranteed, though access is a bit sporty. The deck plan is entirely dedicated to fishing – featuring a livewell and lockers - but still offers some comfortable seating and a heads compartment. At less than 10 feet (3 meters) in beam, this cat can use the same marina slip as a monohull of the same length without extra cost. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Garnet Offshore Length: 28’5” (8.65 m) Beam: 9’6” (2.89 m) Draft: 12” (0.3 m) Displacement: 5,500 lbs (2,500 kg) without engines Engines: 2 x 200 to 300 HP outboards Max speed with 2 x 225 HP: 40 knots Fuel: 190 US gal (720 l) Water: 26 US gal (100 l) Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Our Flyer range was conceived to be the day-boat of your dreams. Equipped with our AirStep® Hull, these powerboats boast faster acceleration and more responsive maneuvering, as well as the ability to lift up and cut through waves – perfect for cruising, water skiing, and wakeboarding. The Flyer also features two different deck plans, our SUNdeck or our SPACEdeck, to maximize either your sunbathing or entertaining needs! Learn more: https://www.beneteau.com/us/flyer/flyer-8-spacedeck-23 -- About BENETEAU -- The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 135 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service.
