A tour of Tranquility, a 36' Aluminum Hull sailing yacht built in France in 1989 and recently purchased by @sailingtranquility for 24,000€ with big plans to upgrade and refit almost the entire boat. This tour was filmed the morning after one of the strongest storms I've experienced in any situation, with winds up to 65 knots / 120km/h and nearly constant lightning, where we dragged over 500 meters and got stuck in soft, shallow mud. Inside and outside tour of our 2005 Gemini 105mc catamaran sailboat to be named Holly Belle

In our last episode, we *insisted* that we were not going to buy a boat. In this episode, we will give you a tour of the boat that we absolutely, positively bought. Our boat is a 1990 Catalina 42, with 3 cabins and 2 heads (a naughtical term for a bathroom). We are the fourth owners of her, and previous owners have done a pretty good job of maintaining her as well as updating her systems. Still, when we bought her there were some things (like her battery banks) that needed replacing, and there were other things that we knew we wanted to add to the boat (like solar panels) to make our lives aboard more comfortable and self-sufficient. We will go into some detail about these systems in upcoming episodes, but for now we'll just give you a tour of our floating home! As I say in the video, we would be happy to address any questions that you have about the boat - just leave a comment below and we will either answer it in the comments or we will add a portion to an upcoming video to answer the questions. Michel Nivelt was indeed one of the two partners of the La Prairie shipyard - the boatbuilder that launched this catamaran in sprayed polyester and plywood, one of the very first of its kind. While the standard model was equipped with a folding deck enabling it to be transported, its little sibling, the Junior, was content with a much more rigid one-piece plywood deck. This is where Olivier Quaneaux, one of our readers, comes in: he got in touch with us; he contacted us because he had unearthed this little catamaran, carefully restored (in his garage...). But what was he proposing? To let us discover for ourselves this surviving piece of history, at the sailing club - the Club de Voile de Castelnaudary, here in France. With its original sails, this Exocet Junior of course thrilled us.
