Before we bought Adhara and became liveaboards we went on a sailing charter in Lanzarote for a week to try out if we could imagine living on a sailboat and how I’d feel about sailing in general. We did that in November of 2019 and a funny story about it is that I absolutely hated the first day! 😆 I couldn’t imagine why someone would actually enjoy sailing. I was scared, I got wet, I was freezing and I felt seasick for 6 hours straight and had no clue what a sheet is and what wind angle means. Apparent or true wind… wait, what? You guys can’t imagine the disappointment in Jans's eyes when I told him „no way in hell are we doing that“ 😂 Spoiler: the story has a good ending 😉 The second day we had the most beautiful weather and sailed around La Graciosa and Montaña Clara. I fell in love with the otherworldly landscape and raw beauty of these islands and enjoyed the gentle Atlantic swell, the idea of sailing as a means to explore this beautiful world we live on grew on me! Oggi si fa il giro di boa. Mezzo viaggio fatto, metà strada percorsa. Subito mi viene da pensare “Di già?” pur andando tutto estremamente lento, mi sembra che il tempo voli via insieme alle miglia. D’altronde siamo già a 1.100 percorse. Mille miglia Mille pensieri Infiniti ricordi. Più ci avviciniamo a terra e più penso di amare l’oceano. Chi ha navigato in altura conosce la sensazione di smarrimento ma anche di accoglienza da parte di questa sostanza inanimata ma ugualmente pregna di vita. Non a caso il blu è il colore che rilassa e che un animo intenso sia profondo come il mare. Questo viaggio sta allineando alcune tracce e sta facendo cambiare tutti. Onde alte, panorami importanti. 💙
