🪢 Sunday Boat Tip [27/52] 🪢 There’s so many horror stories out there with boats having to clean their diesel tanks in the worst imaginable situation after the engine stoped working at an even worse moment. We figured we play it safe and try to prevent it as much as we can after finding a piece of plastic that blocked the system causing our engine to stop outside of Anholt (just after we left Sweden). You can never be totally safe from diesel bugs, specially fueling up in remote places, but you can diminish the risks. Also make sure you protect yourself and the environment by avoiding spill! Only discharge of the residues in a designated place. We're in the UK right now, back at Liz's mum's home of Rye in East Sussex. This ancient port town in steeped in nautical history and boats come right in to the town centre to moor up. We thought we'd do a little bit of recording down by the slipway, so with Liz leading the way we venture to the water's edge. Liz, however, doesn't clock where the slipway ends and the mud begins.
