Without a weather forecast, we attempt to sail upwind to Noro being smashed by squalls. https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, the question is asked. Why is it so hard to turn around? We attempt to sail 80nm to Noro without a weather forecast. We are hit by squall after squall and despite all of our attempts to make ground, fail to do so. We eventually make it to Noro sailing upwind into the night, through the unpredictable seas of "the Slot". We stock up on food and set sail once more, heading for Gizo where we will prepare to leave the Solomon Islands bound for Papua New Guinea.
