We made our way over to Nassau and got a slip at the Yacht Haven Marina where we met up with Randall's good friend Matt and his wife Linn. They were able to fly in to visit us and will be living aboard Turtle with us for the next 5 days! We are used to living in a small space with all of our stuff, but we aren't exactly sure what it will be like having an additional 2 adults and all of their stuff onboard as well. We just hope that they are as comfortable as possible and that they will enjoy their stay with us here in The Bahamas. After dropping their bags on Turtle and giving them a quick look at our boat, we walked a short distance to Solomon's Fresh Market, so we could buy fresh vegetable and food for our friends for the next 5 days. It has been 7 weeks since we have been to a real grocery store, so as you can imagine, we are looking forward to getting some new meal ideas and stocking up on some food items that we wish we had more of. We noticed while at the store that a majority of the products available to buy are about twice as much the price as it would be back home in the U.S. but also just a little bit cheaper than we found while in the Exumas. Upon checking out we thought it would be fun to take turns guessing how much the total cost of our groceries would come to. Linn guessed $185, Matt guessed $210, Randall guessed $200, Kenzie guessed $250, and the checker guessed no more than $280. We were scared and shocked when the total came to $22,033.93! The checker quickly realized that a product was entered in wrong and after fixing the mistake, brought the price back down to $231.52! WHEW! That was enough to bring our heart rates up! This happened a second time with the total coming to $17,698.71, but we weren't as scared this time around, because we figured the same mistake happened again. After fixing the mistake and getting all of the groceries scanned our grand total came to $245.68! Kenzie was within $4. We are glad that we won't need to sell the boat after that shopping experience. Haha We are stoked to have our friends with us here in The Bahamas and we are looking forward to the many adventures that we will have together!
