Life on a liveaboard sailboat takes an unexpected turn when we buy a 1981 Volkswagen Westfalia. But first, we spend a quiet summer day at anchor in Winter Cove aboard W. Grebe. We paddleboard around the anchorage, make dinner, and share a sunset meal in the cockpit with @Rick_and_Anna_Adventure. Winter Cove is one of those places that makes it very easy not to leave. Then, the story takes a turn. Meet Bluey — our 1981 Volkswagen Westfalia. I’d been looking at old Westfalias for a while when this one appeared for sale. She’s an air-cooled VW camper van, largely original, with plenty of character. Buying another old machine when we already live aboard an old wooden sailboat might not make perfect sense. But here we are. This episode is really about both sides of the life we’re building — living aboard and sailing W.
