We Hiked a Volcano with a 2 & 4 Year Old! | Mount Scenery, Saba E389

After finally finding the perfect weather window, we arrive in spectacular Saba and check in by sailboat to one of the most unique islands in the Caribbean. Our adventure begins with a ride along the legendary "Road That Couldn't Be Built"—an engineering marvel carved into impossibly steep volcanic mountainsides. Many believed construction was impossible, yet today it connects the island's colorful villages with breathtaking views around every corner. Then comes our biggest challenge yet: hiking Mount Scenery, Saba's dormant volcano and the highest point in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Together with our 2 and 4-year-old, we tackle all 1,064 steps through an incredible journey of changing ecosystems. Along the trail, we discover delicious wild wine berries, wander beneath towering rainforest canopies, enter mysterious elfin forests, and finally emerge into a magical cloud forest hidden among the mist. Lunch at the summit, surrounded by clouds, is a moment we'll never forget. Saba truly lives up to its nickname: The Island in the Clouds.
