Yes, there came friends and thieves aboard. An act of piracy happened in this peaceful bay. We are in peaceful Tarrafal, where the schooner Oosterschelde anchors regularly. Where tourists come and visit. And as well our French friend Lola, which we met a year and a half ago in Mindelo. The thieves came stealing on Saturday night while crews were on land having a good time. They swam from shore, climbed aboard with knives. Tied, gagged and blindfolded three men aboard a charter yacht next to us about 50 meters away. Meanwhile we are having a good time. The thieves forced the men a knife point to hand over all cash, valuables and electronics as well as a waterproof bag. They swam away with the goods. The localisation signal from the stolen phones indicated they were in Praia a two hours drive away. Luckily no one was injured. Some say it’s The Best Sailing Channel on YouTube!
