The Not Recommended Route | Solo Sailing The Indian Ocean - Ep. 283

I’m sailing from Cocos Keeling to Mauritius — but I’m going a bit more north. The other sailors are heading straight for Mauritius following the rumbline. I choose a different route, together with my Dutch weather router Tim. My local weather router doesn’t think it’s a good idea. In fact, he expects me to have a very tough passage. So who will get the worst of it? Will my northern route leave me with too much wind — or will the boats taking the direct route end up in even worse conditions? This is the beginning of a 2.550 nautical mile solo passage across the Indian Ocean to Mauritius, aboard my 27-foot Grinde, Loveworkx.
