The Mariner Episode 16: Mainsail Removal At Sea!

This episode is in two parts! Join me in the middle of the Atlantic as I work to remove & replace the delaminated mainsail on an Open 60 on my own. Mainsail rigging is normally done alongside the dock on this kind of boat and with extra assistance on hand as these mainsails are extremely heavy & cumbersome to move alone. However when push comes to shove the solo sailor must always complete any and all work the boat presents- so here I go! To make things easier I position the boat in a patch of light airs but that means also that the race is on to get the new main up before stronger winds return!
