The Day We Decided to Drink the OCEAN | Expedition Evans 71

Today we made the decision that we are going to start drinking the ocean. And that means turning saltwater into freshwater with the help of a watermaker! This is going to be a multi day install and today marks day one. We want to be fully self sufficient some day, at least as much as you can be. A watermaker will enable us to take showers, wash dishes, drink and prepare food and even wash our clothes, eventually. Getting water while cruising is possible by hauling jugs and cans, but the more remote you get the more difficult it becomes. Our next big stop is the Bahamas and there are something like 700 uninhabited islands which means a lot of islands to ourselves and no access to water.
