She Took My Boat to Malaysia Without Me!

This was not the plan. A new crew member arrived in Thailand, and normally that would mean we’re getting ready to go sailing on the new yacht. But because of my recent illness and more hospital visits, I had to stay behind in Pattaya. So instead of me taking the boat, Olivia took over. She joined a delivery crew and sailed my new yacht all the way from Pattaya down to Malaysia so we could clear the export from Thailand, then re-import the boat under a tourist import. It’s one of those unglamorous but necessary parts of owning a boat overseas — paperwork, borders, customs, and a whole lot of miles. Meanwhile, I’m stuck on land trying to figure out what’s going on with my health and when I’ll be able to get back to sailing. Not exactly the adventure I had planned… but the boat still had to move.
