Sharing a Boat yard with Firestone Family's Perini Navi Tamsen 52 M Super Yacht

Tamsen is a 170 ft Perini Navi super sailing yacht built for the Firestone Family, who crew the boat themselves. We were fortunate enough to get a closeup view of this yacht during PILAR's stay at Thunderbolt Marine Services in Savannah, GA. Most of time she was in the service bay (in the water), but a day before our departure, they hauled her out to do some work. We never got to see her sail, but found a few videos below in reference. According to a New York times article in 2008, the five-cabin area alone totals 128 square meters (1,378 square feet), with another 111 square meters (1,195 square feet) devoted to the saloon and wheelhouse. It was built by Perini Navi of Viareggio, Italy, one of the yachting world's best-known construction companies. Each Perini vessel takes around three years to build and costs more than 500,000 euros ($625,000) per meter of length, depending on the degree of customization.
