Sailing Ula to the Caribbean | From Ibiza to Gibraltar – Breakdowns & Calm Seas!

After an unforgettable time exploring Ibiza, we continue our journey west towards the Caribbean, crossing to mainland Spain and dropping anchor in the beautiful coastal town of Calp. Cruising life is always full of surprises, and one of the highlights of this leg of the adventure was meeting up with friends who kindly drove us to the supermarket so we could stock up on much-needed provisions before continuing our voyage. From Calp we sailed south towards the Mar Menor, but our plans were suddenly put on hold when a bridge breakdown prevented us from entering the lagoon. Sometimes cruising is all about patience, and this unexpected delay was just another reminder that life at sea rarely goes exactly to plan. Once through the Mar Menor, we set course for Gibraltar. With almost no wind, this became one of those passages where the engine did most of the work as we motored across glassy Mediterranean waters, enjoying the peaceful conditions and reflecting on how far Ula has come on her voyage to the Caribbean.
