Sailing to the Top of Australia💨 🌊 Reef Encounters in Stormy Weather S2CH.7 Over the Top

The wind's howling as we surf waves through a gap in the reef towards a coral cay island. The beginning of our trip up the cape has started off wild, windy and fast with no signs of easing. Becoming a Patron enables us to ensure the continuity of Slim & Soph - Sailing Nakama. A little goes a long way to keep this production alive. With very little free time between uni and the boat, Patreon enables us to focus on creating and posting videos rather than pouring beers at our local. Thank you for your generosity https://www.patreon.com/sailingnakama Or make a one-off donation as you please if subscriptions aren't your thing. Let's keep ticking nautical miles and boat jobs off! https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=C6M8FAYZ5K2ZS We have just pushed off from what will be our last stop in civilisation for the next 1500 nautical miles. We’ve made our last repairs and provisions, and it's now time to take the leap and head further north towards a reef scattered and vaguely charted coastline that is, for the most part, uninhabited. Mixed with feelings of excitement, we are wondering what on earth we are doing...but there's nothing quite like some miserable weather to ease you into life back on the ocean. We head to a small low island where we sit out a blow. However, the weather is showing no signs of improving, so we sail off in the wild conditions, where the wind and swell only increase before we navigate through two islands with outlying reefs. Our charts are completely useless as there is no detail of the area. So we switch to purely eyesight to navigate through coral towards the anchorage. There is nothing pleasant about it.
