After sailing up to Sarasota Florida from Key West we spent the holidays with our families and got our small sailboat, Atticus, ready to leave the United States for a long time. Sailing to Cuba would be our first international landfall as well as our first crossing of a major current, The Gulf Stream. We are excited about Sailing to Cuba from Key West via Sarasota for many reasons, but the idea of sailing to a foreign port that is off limits to most Americans tops the list!
