After last week’s storm, the wind has all but disappeared, making this trip a mix of sailing, motor-sailing, and plenty of laughs along the way. We kick things off navigating through the famous Dorus Mor tidal race, where the current pushes us up to 8 knots, before passing the Fladda Lighthouse and heading towards Oban. With calm seas, Caribbean stories, and a few video-making “tips” from Robin, there’s never a dull moment aboard. Once in Oban, we head ashore for a bit of “Trekking with Dave,” climbing up to the iconic McCaig’s Tower (also known as McCaig’s Folly). The steep hike is well worth it, rewarding us with breathtaking views over Oban Bay and the Sound of Mull.
