We meet people along our journey who inspire, motivate and educate us. We are planning to bring you some of those stories in future vlogs, but after a recent invitation to retell his story for Becky Aud -Jennison’s ‘Death Dialogues’ podcast series we thought we would kick off this section with our Captain himself? Rob’s family story is moving. Death has had a significant presence over his life since his teens. In 1978 his eldest brother Kerry was captured, tortured and executed by Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime. Shortly after this he lost his second eldest brother, John, to suicide leaving his parents, Miles and Esther, and remaining family reeling. Rob’s resilience proves there is life after death. Thank you to Annie Goldson – Occasional Productions for supplementary from documentary “Brother Number One” To see the film trailer or watch the full movie go to www.brothernumberone.co.nz to get the DVD or to stream online.
