Road trip to breathtaking Cappadocia, Turkey (Sailing Nikau) Vlog 36

This is part two of our road trip exploring inland Turkey and its many world heritage sights. On this episode we visit Cappadocia, one of the most unusually beautiful places we have traveled to in the world! Cappadocia is known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Göreme and elsewhere. Other notables sites include Bronze Age homes carved into valley walls by troglodytes (cave dwellers) and later used as refuges by early Christians. We know a lot of people who have avoided Turkey because of its current political situation but we have found it to be a completely safe and hospitable place, in fact we really feel for the many, many family run businesses that are suffering from the lack of visitors now. Turkey is not only stunning it is also amazingly affordable - come see what our road trip was like and maybe you will want to visit too! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
