Why the heck get back to Granby!? When moving aboard a sailboat, one of the biggest parts of the process for living aboard fully is moving all of the stuff of life, your things, to... SOMEWHERE. In our case, that's tools and boat shed into two shipping containers, and some personal things into a third, plus getting "rid" of a whole lot of everything else. We had a yard sale, gave some things away, and packed some things for later. Some sailing channels and blogs have talked about this ad infinitum, as there are very smart ways to organize for a future in a small living space. Its a more emotional process than one would imagine. Yes, it feels like a big cleansing or reckoning, like a big weight off of our shoulders knowing that it's done. It's also maybe a little easier because we've lived aboard this DIY wooden sailboat for a little while, and really felt what's important. Either way, we hope this shines light on the process for anyone who wants to downsize their belongings, whether for future adventure, or to feel lighter in general. -------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella started as a wooden boat building project in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve began the journey as an amateur wooden boat builder crafting a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and now sailing the boat—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that traditional wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project continues beyond the boat shop, as Steve and crew travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat supports A2A!
