Relive The Moment: Episode 3 - Jim Colley

The road to the top is a long one. For the young Australian team of Jim Colley and Shaun Conner, 2019 was a break out year. After a self proclaimed disappointing European leg, they set in motion a training plan both on and off the water which translated to qualifying for the gold fleet at the 2019 Worlds including their first World Championship race win. Jim Colley is at the start of his 49er career and at the 2019 World Championship won his first ever race at at 49er Worlds and made his first ever gold fleet. Together with crew Shaun Connor they improved their performance from the European season by leaps and bounds. Jim describes the extensive mental work he put in to developing a self congratulation system that helped keep in the moment and focus on sailing the boat as well as he could at all times. It's this mental shift in his attitude that he attributes his improvements to.
