Rebuilding The Forward Cabin On Our Westsail 42 | DIY SAILBOAT REFIT | Sailboat Story 190

The time has arrived to get started on rebuilding the forward cabin of our Westsail 42. It's current state is one of general disarray and incompleteness. Really, the only part that's even partially finished are the boards on the wall, but most of those are beginning to fall off under their own weight. To begin our DIY interior sailboat refit, we strip the walls bare, label all of the parts, and remove the old adhesive to get down to the bare hull. After that, we start epoxying the smaller upright boards back onto the walls so that we never have to worry about them falling apart again. Tambi was a huge help and I love having her company at the boat anytime she can break away and assist me with our refit projects.
