This is part 2 of a 2 part series on resurrecting a neglected outboard engine. We had a 9.9 hp mercury that we left on our dinghy in storage and didn't put it away properly. (Fuel still in it, etc). This video is how to remove, clean, reassemble and put the carburetor back on the engine. We did detailed video shots with closeups to show every part of this so that you can see it before you take yours apart. If you want to see the troubleshooting video along with how to replace all the fuel lines inside the engine cowling, please see video 1, at this location. https://youtu.be/39NpqKz0FIA If you think you have a fuel pump problem here is a video on how to test and rebuild that as well. https://youtu.be/XWbgW7WFtHw Here is a link to the rebuild kit - https://amzn.to/31mC8gR Here is the link to buy a new carb - https://amzn.to/3hmZYP3 Ironically enough, this carb was cheaper than the rebuild kit. (for the one that fit our engine, be sure to check your serial number for fit. You can also ask questions of the seller on this amazon page and they have been really responsive). We have always loved the Formosa, bought one (on a bit of a whim) late in 2014, moved aboard this one right away and started to do our refit while living board. We are avid fans of Cruising Outpost and Good Ole Boat (Good Old Boat) magazines and love the ideas we get from them.
