Palau - A day fishing with Erik Vereen

Erik runs a charter business called Island Seed Ltd that takes guests out on the reefs, lagoon, and open sea around Koror area, Palau. His small charter specializes in personal service, instruction, and expert local knowledge, as he has discovered all the secrets of jigging, casting, and bottom fishing in his native waters since early childhood. In our clip, Erik teaches a novice fisherwoman, the fine art of jigging, much to her success. The catches of the day brought on board featured trevally, barracuda (2 species), and a giant photogenic Black Trevally. Not brought on board were sharks and several unknown creatures so large and feisty, that they insisted in taking the jigs home with them, never to be seen! Guests mostly catch and release the prize fish after the Trophy Photo, but guests can elect to keep some of the catch to enjoy a fresh fish dinner cooked to order at The Fisherman restaurant.
