Our SALVAGE SAILBOAT Can't Stay HERE | Expedition Evans 3

We have a lot of repairs to do on our salvaged Beneteau 49 - but the yard the boat is at doesn't allow DIY repairs......or our dogs. Which means the very first step is to launch the boat and get ready to motor our project somewhere else. This was a nerve wracking ordeal, considering we only took possession of the boat the day before and were still unsure of just how extensive the damage was. Keep in mind we bought her at auction without ever meeting the owner! The owner was sailing along and ran aground - hard. Hard enough that the keel pivoted and pushed the aft end up into the hull. This force cracked the internal grid in several places and broke a portion of the grid free from hull. At some point an inspection was done, insurance was called and decisions were made.
