Our Sailboat Journey Continues But How?

Following on from last week’s D-Log, where I asked “Are We Still Liveaboards?”, there’s another fairly obvious question that needs answering… So… what happens to the boat now? Dream is still sitting in Crete while our lives have temporarily shifted back to the UK. With everything that’s happened with Jenny’s family, and now my own mum being very poorly and back in hospital, our plans have had to become much more flexible. As things stand, we’re due to fly back to Crete on 9th October for 10 days. The plan is to get Dream properly prepared for winter and make a few important changes so that I can keep a closer eye on her while we’re back in the UK. That includes improving the CCTV and security, setting up remote access to the battery charger and getting the onboard router configured for remote monitoring. Meanwhile, life in the UK is beginning to get busy. My handyman business is starting to take off again with some substantial jobs alongside the smaller handyman work. I’m also continuing with estate agent viewings on my quieter days and have now been approved to work as a professional property photographer. So are we slowly leaving the sailing lifestyle behind? Absolutely not. Dream isn't going anywhere, and neither is our love of sailing. Life has simply changed direction for a while. As I say in the video: the wind has changed, so we're adjusting the sails.
