No Water, No Stove… I’m Starting to Crack

We leave the Gulf of Aden behind, riding powerful following seas north along the coast of Oman—pushed hard by some of the strongest sustained winds we’ve faced yet. It should feel like a gift… but we’re not exactly in fighting shape. Our water maker failed back in Djibouti, so every drop is rationed. No showers. No margin. Then the inverter goes down—taking our stove and oven with it. No cooking. No hot meals. Just problem after problem stacking up at sea. We’re limping forward, carried by wind we can’t control, toward one of the most critical passages in the world—the Strait of Hormuz. This was filmed end of July to early August of 2024 before recent events of 2026 made this passage much more dangerous. Somewhere along the way, we catch what might be our last fish… a wahoo. A small win in a stretch that keeps testing us. This is what it looks like when the journey doesn’t get easier… you just get closer.
