With wind at 30 knots upwind, it is 40 knots apparent! Unsettled winds and storms means reef in, reef out! We waited over Christmas for a weather window to head to the Marquesas. With a brief switch in the wind to northeast, we sailed to Makemo to wait for another switch to SE. We left Makemo, the wind never switched and we had a rough 3 day sail upwind to Nuku Hiva. Reef in – reef out. We provided some extra footage on reefing at night at the very end of the video. Also, we need to train Tiller not to jump in the water to chase fish.
