Mistakes and Successes of Painting the Topsides of an Alberg 30 Sailboat

SEASON 6 / The Haul Out : Episode #129 : Fail, Success, Fail, Success, Learning how to and how not to paint topsides Hello Friends, On this episode we decided to paint the topsides while we are waiting for our custom stern tube to be made. I had bought topside paint online and the color name was "North Sea" the paint ended up looking like blue painters tape so the color was NOT what we were after. I was also unaware that you need to thin the paint up to 10 percent so our Test section, the stern, came out TERRIBLE. Super thick and drippy. After Several successes and failures we finally got a nice coat of " Interlux - Dark Blue " that we were happy with.
