How to make wooden spars for the Haven 12 1/2 sailboat. In this episode (S2-E62) of the Art of the Art of Boat Building, Boat Builder Bob Emser makes the Jib Club and the Gaff out of sitka spruce. Turning square lumber round with the use of a spar makers gauge. EDITOR NOTE: In this video I mispronounce the word "gaff". It is gaff not gaft. As many of you know, as I have spoken of it before, in previous videos, I'm dyslexic. One of the many symptoms of dyslexia is saying a wrong word that sounds similar to the right one (like extinct instead of distinct). This is the case with both words pointed out by viewer (gaff and tenon) in this video.
