Living an adventurous life with a dehabilitating disease

When I was diagnosed with FSHD (a type of Muscular Dystrophy) the doctors warned that intense physical activity could cause my muscles to rapidly whither away. I respect their intentions but if I'm going to loose the muscle anyway it will be on my terms, doing what I love to do, continuing to live an active life as long as I am able.
