Leaving Our Sailboat For THIS?! (Tornadoes, Sketchy Motels & Dog Emergencies) ⚓️ Ep. 111
We temporarily stepped off SV Agua Azul in the Dominican Republic to travel back to the U.S. to visit our sons—and the mainland immediately welcomed us back with pure, unadulterated chaos! From sketchy dive motels with peeling wallpaper to getting hit with a full-blown tornado warning on the 3rd floor in Alabama, this U.S. road trip proved that land life isn't always calmer than the ocean. In this video: The Great Motel Escape: Better water pressure than the Caribbean, but locked-down microwaves and peeling walls. Reuniting with the Boys: Visiting Brandon (our dive welder son) and checking out his epic freshwater tank—complete with a custom Home Depot bucket filter system! Alabama Land Life: Walking around Huntsville, obsessively checking boat cameras every 5 minutes, and eating our weight in Gator Po’ Boys and Crumbl cookies. Puppy Emergencies: Dealing with a sick pup, an emergency carpet cleaner run, and making the tough call on her retirement to Texas. Tornado Sirens & Storms: Watching the radar light up while staying on the 3rd floor! Next stop: Heading further north into Tennessee! 00:00 - Road Trip Realities & Sketchy Motels 02:04 - Heading Through the Carolinas to See Our Youngest 03:43 - Reunion in Alabama with the Boys & Walmart Run 05:48 - Exploring Huntsville & Being "Non-Boat People" 06:46 - Gator Bites, Fish Tacos & Cajun Food 08:38 - Bella's Land Life Updates & Pet Travel Realities 10:42 - Shopping Spree & Crumbl Cookies 12:51 - Relaxing at the Rec Area & Grilling Steaks 15:43 - Alabama Tornado Warning! 17:38 - Road Trip Continues On to Tennessee 💙 Follow Our Journey: 🌐 Website: https://chrisdoeswhat.com 📱 Subscribe for more liveaboard sailing, DIY fixes, and travel madness! 🎵 Featured Music: "Agua Azul" by Christopher Redding
