The Spanish rice "Caldero" is a typical dish of the Mar Menor, and the recipe dates back to the 19th century when the fishermen of the region used to prepare it on the beach, using the small fish which were not good enough to sell in the markets and is a dish steeped in the flavors of the Mar Menor itself. It is traditionally prepared in a Caldero, a cauldron-style pan from which it takes its name. Today we are cooking on the classical wooden boat with Miguel 86 years old man from Cartagena Spain. This was one of the moments you can’t buy. Miguel aged 86 showed us how to cook “Caldero” He was born and raised in this area. Cartagena, Mar Menor. First, you fry pimiento in olive oil and crush it down with garlic. Then you fry different fish. Then you give a lot of water to it and make a broad.
