Heli Ice Climbing | Fox Glacier | South Island, New Zealand

Rainy weather still made for a great day of ice climbing on Fox Glacier January of 2018. The heli flight in and out offered a spectacular view of the glacier and surrounding waterfalls scattered throughout the landscape. Hearing the ice shift deep within the glacier added to the suspense and excitement as huge chunks of ice were held in place by tiny intact portions rapidly melting away in the rain, ready to give out at any moment. Highly recommended day of adventure.
