GOODBYE Oregon! Ep. 8

WE FINALLY LEFT OREGON! We have spent 5 years preparing for this trip and now we are finally on our way! We spent all our energy on getting Turtle ready for ocean crossings, that we neglected to pay attention to the truck and trailer that would be hauling our sailboat to the other side of the country. Now that we have all the problems fixed we can now continue on to the Bahamas! Just in case you haven't been following our journey so far, here is a list of our attempts to leave: 1. It snowed 2. The trailer brakes were not sufficient 3. We lost a tire off the trailer while driving down the road 4. High winds made us have to turn back around 5. We lost the trailer off the hitch while driving and we also broke down on a mountain and had to get towed down 6. The truck needed a new alternator and battery 7. The trailer axel spun loose and we needed all new suspension For good things to happen, one must put in the work and effort to make it happen. We didn't wake up one day and say hey lets go on vacation to the Bahamas on a sailboat, and magically we were there. No, it took us 5 years of working multiple full time jobs, saving money, working on endless boat upgrades and refits, learning how to sail on rough waters and setting goals. At this point of our journey we are just hoping we can make it to Florida. We haven't done anything this epic before and to be honest we have no idea what to expect!
