Family Sailing Adventure - 900+ Miles from Sicily, Italy to Gibraltar

We experience a lot of "firsts" on this journey of ours. First time eating a new food or first time visiting a new country are pretty common. This week, we went on our first sailing voyage: a four-day, 950-mile journey from Sicily to Gibraltar. And when I say "we," I mean the boys! Gina and Ruby decided to bow out and take a short trip to one of the happiest places on earth. Before they left, we celebrated Emerson's upcoming birthday. We're so happy to have Emerson in our family! Before we hit the road (or water, so to speak), and mostly because Gina wasn't around to cook, we went on a food tour in Stromboli. Food tours are one of our favorite things to do in a new city or culture. Getting a food guide to show you great local spots is well worth the money. I guarantee we never would have eaten in some of the best places we've been without someone showing us around. I highly recommend it! As expected, once we got on the open sea, things weren't always smooth sailing. We had our share of literal and figurative snags along the way. Sometimes we were lucky and sometimes we used the skills we've picked up out here, but we always learn something new. It's such a blessing to be out here with the people I love most in the world.
