Exploring Sea at Cabrillo Harbor on Catalina Island and Meeting Emerald Steel

Season 7 : Episode #154 : Scuba Diving, Spearfishing and Emerald Steel Hello Friends, On this episode we spend our last day at anchor at Cabrillo Harbor exploring the sea! I started the day with a shallow water dive with John Conway of SV Felurian where we saw a lot of lobsters, sea fans and a very large school of bait fish! After the dive I rowed over and had an inspiring conversation with Jules and Suzie of Emerald Steel ( https://www.youtube.com/sailingemeraldsteel ) The pandemic keep us at dinghy length but it was wonderful to meet them and share an anchorage with them. In the afternoon a very hung over Camille and myself went for a snorkel so she could try out spearfishing for the first time ! she was using a Hawaiian Sling and although we didn't see any fish large enough to take she did take a number of practice shots and is excited to learn the art of spear fishing!
